Valentine’s Day… 2021 Style

It’s February, the month of heart-shaped chocolates, romance, and beautiful bouquets. However, as we have all come to know, love is not the only thing in the air this year! While trying to stay safe and adhere to social distancing guidelines, a “normal” Valentine’s Day celebration may seem unfeasible. We have compiled a list of in-home and online date ideas, as well as several local CSRA restaurant specials and deals, to help you celebrate with those you love in a fun and safe way.

Searching for a fun way to take your date outdoors and stay active? Look no further than the Cupid’s 12 Roses of Valentine’s Day Run Challenge ! It’s as simple as registering, grabbing your special someone, picking a location, and setting out for your 12 mile run or walk. You can even choose to add an extra 1.1 miles to make a full 13.1 mile half-marathon. Register for a fee of $50 to score some medals and rose pins for each mile run to commemorate your date. You may even choose to end the run with a special picnic at Lady A, the Savannah Rapids Pavillion, or any other of the beautiful parks the CSRA has to offer!

If the idea of running a half-marathon with your special someone sounds like more of a sweaty fiasco than fun, you may be more interested in something more relaxed such as an online or socially distanced painting class! Bites & Brushes painting studio is hosting two Valentine’s Day Paint & Sip pARTies, complete with masks and social distancing to keep you safe. You can register for a fee from $75-100 per couple on their website  under “Find a Painting Party” for either of their couples paint parties Sunday evening. If you’re looking for a stay at home option, sign up for an online painting class with Painting to Gogh , where they’ll teach you how to paint a masterpiece such as Starry Night! Add a glass of wine and your significant other and you’re ready to go.

There are also tons of fun and cute Valentine’s Day craft ideas to complete with your kids or special someone, making for an entertaining Valentine’s Day stay at home activity. You can find countless heart-filled craft ideas over Pinterest! This year is also the perfect time to make use of many of the CSRA’s flower delivering services! Edible Arrangements, Martina’s Flowers and Gifts, Flowers on Broad, and many others offer fresh flower and sweet treat delivery services right to your door, so you don’t even have to leave your house!

Any Valentine’s Day, quarantined or not, wouldn’t be complete without ending the day with a special, romantic dinner with your significant other. There are plenty of options at home or around the CSRA to help you check this off your to-do list. Spending some quality time in the kitchen together with those you love can fill your heart and your stomach! Cook up some of your favorite foods together and enjoy a special home cooked meal safe in your home.
