Add a Little Extra to Your Thanksgiving Table
November 22, 2016
Every social entertainer knows that the most noticeable elements of a good get together, second to the food, are the extra little details. This Thanksgiving, if you're all set with a menu of delicious meats and tweet-worthy sides, try incorporating some of these other ideas into your Turkey Day.
Wherever you're spending your Thanksgiving holiday this season, don't forget the things you're thankful for. At First Choice, we're thankful for friends and family, customers and employees, and for God's many blessings.
1 Timothy 4:4-5 - For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.
1) "I'm thankful for..." cards at every place setting.
This is a great way to spur serious contemplation about what your family is thankful for this holiday season. Card Store Blog has designed this adorable menu/card set that you can download for FREE! Input your own menu and print them out.
2) Write your menu on chalkboard chargers.
If your extended family is in town all week and you're looking for a craft project, this could be a good one. Mendez Manor has your step-by-step instructions.
3) DIY Apple Candle Holders.
We like Domestically Blissful's idea to use artificial apples so that you don't ahve to throw your candles away after a few days. See the instructions on her blog!
4) Table Runner for the kids' table using burlap and paint.

5) Create a Thanksgiving leftover station with an assortment of box sizes, bags, and tupperware.
This is truly a showstopping idea. Who doesn't have leftover Thanksgiving food!? Kojo-Designs has your free printable designs for labels.
6) Create a mini pumpkin tic tac toe table for the kids!
With just a little tape and some pumpkins for the grocery store, you can create hours (or at least some much-needed minutes) of entertainment for the kids. The kids table at your house is going to be THE place to be! More pictures from Its Overflowing.
7) Another way to bring the Thanks to your Thanksgiving table is to have everyone write on it!
Each attendee, old and young, writes what they're thankful for on the tablecloth. Year after year, you bring the tablecloth back out and write on it again. Each year, you'll be able to reminisce about all of the memories and things that have changed. We like this example from the Seasonal Home.
