Arts in the Heart 2016
September 20, 2016
The 3-day Arts in the Heart festival in downtown Augusta offers an opportunity for citizens of Augusta and the surrounding areas to experience and appreciate different cultures, while celebrating the creativity and innovation of local artists. This was our second year as a sponsor of the festival and we cannot praise it enough. No wonder it’s in its 36th year!
Entertainment abounds for festivalgoers of any age. There is even an entire section of the festival dedicated to children’s activities, called the Family Area. If you weren’t one of the 80,000 attendees this weekend, then you definitely missed out. Go ahead and add it to your calendar for next year right now!

We saw a lot of foot traffic at our tent this year, located at the corner of the Augusta Commons and Broad Street. Not only were we giving away some great swag, but we also had an interactive chalkboard! We thoroughly enjoyed getting to read both what people wanted in their Dream Homes, as well as what people wanted to do before they died.
The board was so popular we even had to wipe it down multiple times over the weekend so it could be filled back up.
We want to thank everyone that stopped by our tent to say hello. We love meeting so many new faces!
See you next year at Arts in the Heart 2017!

ACTIVITIES
Taking up 5 blocks in the heart of downtown Augusta, this festival features 5 stages with performances ongoing throughout the weekend. There are jazz musicians, tap dancers, local bands, and a plethora of international performances on the Global main stage.

THE FOOD
Last, but not least, the main reason why so many people come back to Arts in the Heart year after year: THE FOOD! With over 20 different countries represented, the international foods available to try at this festival cannot be topped. Many of the food tents set up for particular countries are family-operated, meaning you can’t go to a local restaurant and try this food any other time throughout the year. And you know they’re serving up delicious selections when the line is 40 people long! This weekend’s top tents seemed to be African American, Greece, and the Philippines, just to name a few.
